"KLASSCFI" @
ASPEN IDEAS CLIMATE 2024
March 11th, 2024 // Miami, FL // Miami Beach Botanical Garden
Conceived and directed by Asser Saint Val
"KLASSCFI" is a multi-sensory art installation and performance exploring the human connection to nature — emphasizing that environmental sustainability is not only scientific, but lived through embodied experience and soul-centered awareness.
The work was presented by a collaborative ensemble including opera singer Thandolwethu Mamba, musicians Micheal Gil and Paloma Dueñas, designer Shunelle Porcena, body painter Adrienne Tabet, and myself, Jessica Freites. Asser Saint Val also performed on piano. As performance artist and conduit, I contributed fully improvised movement and interactive moments, responding in real time to the installation, the other performers, and the audience. My improvisations shaped the flow of the performance, bridging the visual, auditory, and spatial elements, and actively engaging the audience as participants.
Role: Performance Artist; Improvisational Contribution; Audience Interaction; Conduit
